Engaged Sweeper II
Hello,

I hope someone can help me because I've just spent 4 hours trying to get this issue sorted, without success. I am using the latest version of Lansweeper Premium in an organization that has 4 domains: 1 production, and 3 test domains. They do not have a domain trust but they are all in the same subnet.

Lansweeper fails to scan all machines on the other 3 domains with the message: "Scanning credential is missing administrative privileges". It's trying to use the Global account for the non-global domains.

I have done the following in order to try to get this resolved.

Other Credentials - created alternate credentials for each domain. They have a green checkmark in the In Use section.

Domain/Workgroup credentials - created domains based on Netbios and linked the proper logon accounts to them.

Active Scanning - created the other 3 domains based on DNS and Netbios name.

IP Address Range Scanning - Added the alternate credentials in there so it can use them while scanning.

No matter what I do, whenever I manually Rescan the assets it fails with the same message. Also it says DCOM is not enabled and the settings are incorrect, but I verified that DCOM is in fact active and with the correct security settings. Finally, the "Last Tried" date does not change, but instead shows when it automatically tried to scan last nite a few minutes after midnight. Not sure if that is related, perhaps it doesn't register the manual scan attempts somehow.

I have disabled Active Scanning and only tried it using IP Scanning, and vice versa. I have changed DNS settings on the Lansweeper server using the procedure on your site: http://www.lansweeper.com/kb/12/untrusted.html

I'm stumped. I have looked through all documentation that I can find, but nothing that can help me. Can anyone please help me out on this one? I really need to be able to scan all domains.

Problem resolved through email. The user reached the limit of the number of assets allowed by his license and received warnings about this as well. No scanning can take place when this happens.

You need to either delete assets or switch to a different licensing plan. You can delete assets by clicking the Assets link at the top of the web console, ticking the checkboxes in front of the assets you wish to delete and hitting the Delete button on the left.

The Lansweeper Server service is still running. Just to make sure I have restarted the service but to no avail. 😞

It doesn't say this. The error states that a possible problem is your DCOM configuration.

If the "last tried" date hasn't updated since you added your secondary credentials, that means no scan attempts have been made since then. Could you please verify whether your Lansweeper service is actually running.
