Hello,

Could anyone please help me understand how do you scan non-domain machines with Lansweeper?

Thanks,
Vikas

**Note on above work around**

This is a Group Policy tweak
And as such will not work on Any Home edition Of Windows because GPE(Group Policy Editor) Is not included or optional in these editions

We have only tried this with Vista Home Ultimate, But as far as our research has concluded there are some work arounds in which you can add GPE to the OS. This however did not work for us, and we are hesitant to continue messing with the OS to enable this.

Just thought i should share this info

In addition to the advice above, I got this to work by making sure these registry keys were set as follows:

Windows Firewall: Allow remote administration exception

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\DomainProfile\RemoteAdminSettings!Enabled = 1

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\DomainProfile\RemoteAdminSettings!RemoteAddresses = <ip of lansweeper server>

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\StandardProfile\RemoteAdminSettings!Enabled = 1

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\StandardProfile\RemoteAdminSettings!RemoteAddresses = <ip of lansweeper server>

Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts

MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\ForceGuest = 0

I got this to work on the handful of machines I have that aren't a member of my domain.

The current price is discounted from 299.99 to 199.99

(just a reminder, we also don't support it in the premium version if you can't get it to work)

1) Add the alternate credentials in the screen, use the computername as domain (requires the premium version)
2) schedule "lsclient.exe servername" on the standalone workstation.

(like I said, we don't support it)

Thanks Support, but I need little more clarity on how to execute it, can you add any example here ?

Workgroups are not supported but this is a workaround:

Specify alternate credentials for the computer.
trigger the scan with lsclient from the non-domain computer.
