Should the "Scan these active directory domains" be: "ad.xxx.yy" or just "AD"?

How does it work, will it scan for computers all the time and when finished start all over again, and can I specify somewhere how often to re-scan computers that has not "called in"?

OK, I ment active scanning for computers. Computers that are in the AD but not yet in the lansweeper db, and also re-scanning of computers that has not run the lsclient for x days.

Active scanning queries the domaincontrollers for computer logons and immediately adds them to the queue when a new logon is found. (this lookup process runs every 10 minutes)
A computer is only scanned once (at maximum) every 8 hours (unless triggered by lsclient or lstrigger)

If you start the service with active scanning enabled, the first scan will look for computers logged on in the last hour.

This is useful to know for reference - perhaps it could be included in the documentation along with how other settings / configurations work.

I used the FQDN for active scanning (eg ad.xxx.yy).
It scans the entire domain (if you dont use filtering with OU).
The scanning interval is different for the specific scans. You can set up scanning intervals in GUI Console.
Files and harddisk is scanned every day by default. Codec and cdrom is every 50 and 60 days.

As I said you can specify your own intervals in the GUI Console.
