I did this

runas /user:nam\svc-lansweeper "cmd /k shutdown -r -m \\{computer}"

if I run this from lansweeper and supply the password the message that dcomes back is "the device is not ready" . If I execute this from a command prompt and substitute {computer} for the computername then the command executes as it should

the reason I put the cmd /k is because without it there is no way to tell what the error message is

You could try to modify to custom actions to use run-as. That's the only way I can see this happening.

we have an environment where as and admin you have 2 accounts , a user account for work and an adm account for administering any network changes, this way nothing accidental should happen, would there be any chance of getting your software to adapt to these standards
Thanks

I've seen some people start there web browser using "run-as" just to use the custom actions.

When you run a tool from the action screen it runs from the context of the person running the webbrowser.
It would be the same as just running the same command directly from windows by that user.

This way your current user security configuration does not need to be changed.
Some tools need administrative permissions on the target client (like screengrab) others (like ping, traceroute) don't
