Is there anyway to view or get lansweeper to get the HP product ID (the 7 character code, e.g. XX992EA, B0W42ES)?

This seems to be the one bit of information missing from the audit which would be great to have.

Thanks,
Steve

As far as we know, this information is not currently collected. If it is stored in a registry key however, you can use Registry Scanning to retrieve it. Instructions on how to set up registry scanning can be found on pages 89 and 90 of our online documentation.

I believe in the WMI it's called the SystemSku. However I know very little of WMI so I cannot tell you where it is located.

I can tell you it is also in the registry located at:

HLKM\Hardware\Description\System\BIOS\SystemSKU

This is about the same as http://www.lansweeper.com/forum/yaf_postst2645_HP-part-Numberserial-correction-and-Warranty-Links.as...

No the 'IdentifyingNumber' is the Serial Number.

Every HP product has a product code that identifies that particular model and specification. For example we have HP Probook 4530s with product codes:

XX992EA - Intel Core i3-2310M 2100Mhz, 3Gb Memory, 300Gb Hard Drive
A6E08EA - Intel Core i5-2450M 2500Mhz, 4Gb Memory, 600Gb Hard Drive
B0W44ES - Intel Core i3-2350M 2300Mhz, 4Gb Memory, 500Gb Hard Drive

So basically from the product code you can identify the hardware (processor, memory, harddrive, etc) and build of the machine, as machines with the same product code will be actually the same.

Could you provide some further information on what this ID represents? This is not the asset tag we're assuming? (Asset tags can be found in the IdentifyingNumber field of tblComputerSystemProduct within the Lansweeper database.)
