I am still getting some desktop computers with WMI error. They can not get to be scanned by Lansweeper.
I have checked WMI Access denied message as suggested in the forum but without any luck finding a solution.
The windows firewall is configured thru the Domain Policy (allowing remote administration exception) and trying to ping to this workstation is not succesful from any client.
Wmierror The RPC server is unavailable 0x800706BA (PCE0028.OneSource.local, PCE0028, 192.168.1.78) 4/9/2009 2:23:24 PM
Wmierror Cannot connect to DCOM port 135 : Firewalled? (PCE0028) 4/9/2009 2:23:24 PM
How can I check this from the machine which has the service installed?

On the affected machine you can try: "netsh firewall show state"
Sample output:
Firewall status:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Profile = Standard
Operational mode = Enable
Exception mode = Disable
Multicast/broadcast response mode = Enable
Notification mode = Enable
Group policy version = Windows Firewall
Remote admin mode = Disable
Ports currently open on all network interfaces:
Port Protocol Version Program
-------------------------------------------------------------------
No ports are currently open on all network interfaces.
