We just bought Lansweeper today and we are seeing several machines with the below issue:

Remote WMI test

\root\cimv2 Remote WMI access test FAILED
The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)



We have validated that there is not a fiewall running on the computers. Any help would be appreciated.

We figured out it was Mcafee HIPS that was blocking the port. Thanks for your help.

Could you telnet from the server to the client on port 135 (if not a firewall is blocking access or dcom is not available)
Some people had this problem with cisco vpn client which has a build in firewall.

We get the same error using fqdn and ip:

Remote Registry test using WMI

\root\default Remote WMI access test FAILED
The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

Please try the connectiontester from the server to the client.
Try on both fqdn,computername and ip address.
