I did a quick search and ran across this thread http://www.lansweeper.com/forum/yaf_postst7401_Unable-Using-Lsremote-on-PC-administrator.aspx

I have a few servers in question that are having this issue, I got with the owner of the servers and got an answer: It's because they are AIX servers and the ports are shut off. Lansweeper doesn't translate this and keeps wanting to contact it and scan. The owner of the server can't remove the server from AD (where Lansweeper is pulling) due to production use.

Is there such a thing as a whitelist or a way to get Lansweeper to stop trying to scan these AIX servers.

Thanks

Could you clarify what you are trying to do. As stated previously, the "don't show" state doesn't hide machines from your web console. If you don't wish to scan/view specific machines:
- Exclude them from future scanning by following the instructions on page 120 and beyond of our online documentation: http://www.lansweeper.com/documentation.pdf
- Delete their existing Lansweeper webpages by clicking the Assets link at the top of the web console, ticking the checkboxes in front of the assets and hitting the Delete button on the left.

I went through and set the devices to : Don't showyet this morning when I can back in I checked the dashboard it was showing "not scanned" and some of them went back to active. I haven't checked with anyone else this morning to see if maybe they changed the setting. That could be the case so I will follow up there

I apologize, I was cross referencing an issue with scanning (the error was about RPC) so I did a search based on that keyword. I did some more searching and found that I can tell Lansweeper to not show the AIX devices in the list.

I have set them all to no show and am rescanning now so hopefully they will go off my "red" list

Could you please clarify your question. The forum thread you're referring to discusses the Remote Control tool, which has nothing to do with scanning.

If you want to exclude machines from scanning, follow the instructions on page 120 and beyond of our online documentation: http://www.lansweeper.com/documentation.pdf
