Engaged Sweeper
Hi,

I was testing LanSweeper for the past 2 days, yet there's not much of success on accessing the Web GUI. I've tried over and over on reinstalling both SQL server & LS, yet still prompted "Server Application Unavailable"

The documentation doesn't seemed be much of help either.

I'd also viewed the thread bellow and follow the steps still failed to get through.

Below are the things that I'd tried (I'm not into server):
1) Install SQLExpress 2005 & Lansweeper 3.2 on Win2003 Server R2 with IIS installed (Workgroup domain)
- SQLExpress (default settings)
- followed documentation on SQL settings
- Lansweeper 3.2 (Followed the documentation)
- I entered the user id (ComputerName/Administrator)
- Prompted Administrator does not have administrative priviledged, but yet proceed.
- Set Virtual directory (/lansweeper32)

2) Tested the default link (http://ComputerName/lansweeper32)
- result = "Server Application Unavailable"

3) Tested (http://ComputerName:9524)
- result = OK

4) Tested GUI Console = OK

5) Change IIS Settings "Website" folder to add "Everyone" with full-control
- Directory security - ComputerName/Internet Access Guest
- Port: 80
- retest Web Console - Failed!

6) EvenLog - Application
- ASP.Net - Access Denied!

I really do appreciate some help here. I've already reformatted the server hoping to have a fresh start on installing Lansweeper one more time before I give up. It's really important to me for work purposes.

Next premium version 3.5 (which will be released this week) can use alternate credentials.

Hi,

I managed to resolved the issue due to IIS port settings. I apologize for the trouble.

In the meantime, I have another concern here is that I'd setup the Lansweeper with "Administrator" as the main account. Due to the company's environment, the clients are not fully running on domain. Therefore, I planned to write a script to add a local account with administrator rights to perform the task.

However, I was thinking is there anyway to add the account to the Lansweeper through GUI Console? & how? I'm wouldn't want to reinstall Lansweeper again.

Thanx
