Engaged Sweeper II
Hi Folks,

I am in the process of populating Lansweeper with our various license details and orders and I have come across a few issues/questions, I hope one of you nice folks can help me out. 😉

1) On the "Orders" tab, is it possible to resize the columns and add additional columns?

2) What is the process for tracking special licensing? One example would be that we have a site license of ARCserve Backup which allows us to install it in as many places as we like as long as we don't exceed the total amount of data being backed up. Another example would be the Windows Server Datacenter licensing that we use on our VMware cluster.

3) The price is displaying £ which, I guess, is supposed to be the currency symbol?

4) Is there a recommendation for tracking licenses with downgrade rights? For example, at the moment I am tracking all Microsoft Office Pro versions together, but really I should be tracking the different versions separately, but the overlicensing we have in Office 2010 could also be applied to Office 2007? Not sure if I'm making myself clear here, but I hope you understand.

5) When entering an order, is it possible to assign that licenses to a specific user or computer?

Well, I think that's it for now, many thanks in advance.

TimC.

No problem and thanks for the replies. We will be moving Lansweeper to a new server soon so I will make sure it is up to date at the same time.

Thanks again.

Our apologies, it appears this thread was overlooked.

In the latest Lansweeper version, these columns are automatically resized based on the size of their content. Adding additional columns is not possible.

This was a bug in an old Lansweeper version. Make sure you are using the latest Lansweeper version.

No, this is not currently possible.

The license compliance module currently only takes the number of software installations into account. You cannot add custom parameters.

There is no specific feature for this setup. If you track 2007 and 2010 separately, you can't make the license compliance module move the "extra" 2010 licenses over to the 2007 license item.
