We are having the exact same issue since upgrading to 12.1.0.1 from 11.3.0.5. None of our deployment packages seem to be working now. Resulting in the same Preliminary checks failed! Task Service Error. BinaryFormatter serialization and deserialization are disabled within this application. error.
I have had a case in for 4 days now with support but so far, it's been radio silence from them.

Hi smrtonos11333,
Thank you for posting in the Lansweeper community.
In some cases this can be the Task Scheduler not running on the client machine or with a (remote) permission-related issue. When testing the package on a specific assets, do make sure that, All required services (RPC, Task Scheduler, Remote registry, Windows Event Log...) are running on the targeted asset
Ensure no firewall or Anti-Virus setting is blocking the Lansweeper Service from connection to the asset and creating the scheduled task. Temporarily disabling your firewall/Anti-Virus might help in testing if this could indeed be the case. Ensure that your firewall and antivirus software aren't blocking Lansweeper's connection to assets and task creation. Temporarily disabling them can help isolate the issue.
If all the above don't resolve the issue, please contact Technical Support so that we may investigate further
Make sure to add screenshots and the GatherLogs output file so our SME's can start investigating the issue straight away.
