Is it possible to choose an active directory user in Lansweeper and then add an asset (ie computer)?
I see that I can go to the actual computer asset and add a user, but it would nice to go to the user and add assets.

In 5.1, when you edit the user you can add a relation ("uses" or "owns") to an asset too.

You should be able to Edit the Asset. At the bottom of the 'Edit' page in the 'User Relations' section you should be able to associate the asset with a User.
Select the DATE
Function (Used By, Installed by, etc)
Select User
Add
Hope that helps.
