I was able to remove some of the agents by transferring their data to a different agent but for some reason I can't do it with others. I get an error saying agent's data must be transferred first. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For deleting demo data specifically there should be a Delete Demo Data button available in every Lansweeper section that includes demo data. This includes the Helpdesk tab or Configuration\User Access & Roles.
When transferring agent data, make sure you are clicking the Transfer To This Agent button next to the agent that will receive the data, in the resulting pop-up you can select the user you wish to delete.
