Engaged Sweeper
Hi
We have a number of new Dell laptops: Latitude E7240
Lansweeper is reporting the warranty to be 8 years rather than the normal 3. Is this an issue with Dell or Lansweeper? What is lansweeper checking so i can find out.

Thanks

Tony

We will fix this in the next update.

(We already included a fix for this but in the latest Dell patch, they made a spelling error in the text)

All of the dates are shown on the Warranty Service section of the asset page, however. So it shows the computer warranty date as well as the Digital Delivery date there.

If you look at the warranty site for any new computer, Dell is now including a warranty date for Dell Digital Delivery.

"Dell Digital Delivery enables you to purchase select software titles at the same time you order your computer. When you receive your computer, the software is automatically downloaded and installed from the internet."

It's unfortunate that Dell includes this as a warranty date, because it throws off LS. It seems LS finds the latest date on the warranty list and uses that. It's a logical way of determining the date, but the Digital Delivery date throws it off.
