Engaged Sweeper III

Hi, I'm adding some AIX servers to lansweeper, via SSH, which has been working fine. But, I see that it doesn't extract some information that I need, such as the installed software and the users on the system. When I test it, everything looks ok, the user with whom I log in via ssh has root privileges. What else could I check? Does lansweeper bring the information of the applications and users via ssh? I hope you can help me. Thanks

Thanks for the answer davidpk.
I've just read the links you've sent, and I see that there are some AIX commands that get information (lslpp for example) that command has the software that is installed on the client. So my question is if this functionality is shown in lansweeper? My question is what information can I expect when extracting information via SSH in an AIX, something similar to linux systems? It would be interesting to know exactly what differences there are between each way of obtaining information. Like the example I just gave, if there is the command to keep the software installed, why doesn't it show it?

Hi MrNico,

Lansweeper offers scanning capabilities for a wide range of Linux-based distributions. While we can also scan Unix systems via SSH, it's important to understand the potential limitations.

The scanning process relies on specific commands, which are generally consistent across Linux distributions. However, Unix systems, and particularly specialized flavors like AIX, often deviate from standard Linux command sets.

Therefore, while Lansweeper can successfully identify AIX assets through SSH, the level of detailed information collected may be limited compared to Linux scans. You can expect basic system information, but comprehensive details like installed software and user lists may not be available.
