Does Lansweeper have the ability to have a 3 server configuration, where there are 3 separate networks (Network A, Network B & Network C) that do not communicate? There would be 1 scanning server for each network (Scanning Server A, Scanning Server B & Scanning Server C) and 1 database server on Network A. Could Network A, Network B and Network C share their inventories with the database server in Network A via CD or USB storage device? Thanks in advance!

For Windows computers specifically, you could use our LsPush scanning agent, as mentioned in Jeremy's post as well. LsPush is a small executable that, when run on a Windows computer, scans the computer locally. You could deploy LsPush with the /folder parameter in the secondary networks, through a logon script or group policy. The scan results will then be placed in the folder you've specified. From there you can copy them and place them in the Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Service\import folder of your main Lansweeper installation, where they'll be imported. More info on LsPush can be found here.

If you want to inventory non-Windows machines as well, you would need to set up some kind of connection between your various sites or make your SQL Server accessible over the Internet. Theoretically, you could set up a separate Lansweeper installation (database, scanning service, web console) in each site as well and merge the database afterwards. You would have to write your own database scripts for this though. This is not something we can provide instructions or support for.

Looking for such features as well.

We have many not comunicating networks. And they should not communicate by design.
There are many "non Windows" devices that need to be inventoried on those networks.
But we need a central inventory base.

Some kind of aggregation tool would be very helpful.

We are planning to add a database aggregation tool in the future which will allow you to merge data from multiple Lansweeper databases into a single central database. Though at this moment in time we're not able to provide you with an estimated release date for this addition.

At this moment in time, merging separate Lansweeper databases would require custom scripting which we unfortunately cannot provide support for.

As mentioned earlier in this topic, LsPush could be a functional workaround for inventorying Windows computers that don't have a direct connection to any of your scanning servers.

Hi,
we have the same issue on our site. We are planning to scan more than 10 independent system and want to report into one central LW DB, or even do a one by one copy of the data to import them into our Ticket CMDB.
We also only have SFTP as connection to the outside world available.
Will it also be possible to do a one by one deumpt of the DB once a day and do a import on the other site, or do I have to go into scripting to solve this?
Best regards

Merging the databases is technically possible, but this would require a lot of scripting on your part. You'll likely need to change a lot of asset IDs during the merge for instance, because the same IDs will be in use in multiple installations. Unfortunately, merging databases is not something we can provide further instructions or support for.

The 3 networks will not be able to communicate, by design and security constraints. What if I were to have a scanning/database on Networks A, B and C. How difficult would it be for me to copy the databases, via DVD, from networks B and C and then merge them to the database on Network A? I'm using Microsoft SQL Server 2012. Thanks in advance.

Because of the security classifications, the networks cannot physically touch. The data from the 2 networks with lower security classifications can be transferred to the network with the highest security classifications via CD or other similar means. No data from the networks with higher security classifications can be passed to the networks with lower security classifications.

So setup a P2P VPN network.
