Is there a variable in the reporting system that I can set to exempt subnets from the report? For example I have 2 subnets dedicated to non persistent VM's and I dont need to report against them.

You could set those assets to any asset state other than "Active" as most built-in reports will exclude these. When you create a new custom report this filter is also automatically incorporated (Where tblAssetCustom.State = 1).

It is possible to exclude subnets from reports but you'd have to add filters based on IP address to each individual report.
