Yes, that shouldn't be a problem.
On your XP client it's best to turn your firewall off for performance.

While I am trying to find out how to apply this policy properly - still hasn't deployed Can I ask a point of Point of Clarification on best practice?
Is it better to have lansweeper installed on the SBS 2004 Premium box - with ISA or better to have it in an xp client that is on all the time? Reason I ask is my Sharepint site seems to have died when I installed Lansweeeper on the SBS box - where sharepoint is installed? Many thanks for you help

on the xp client you can test with "gpresult" this show all applied policies.

You can also force a policy refresh on the client with "gpupdate /force"
