We had one of our Xerox copiers get the network interface card replaced a few days ago, which of course meant the MAC address also changed. This created another asset entry for this copier in Lansweeper. If we wanted to merge these records and keep the historical information of the original device, would we just manually change the MAC address in the original asset entry?

I assume we'd need to delete the new asset first since it will detect another device with the same MAC address if we tried to modify the original asset.

Thanks

If the interface that was replaced is the only interface the device has, automatic merging will not be possible, as this happens based on matching MAC addresses. Network devices get uniquely identified in Lansweeper based on their MAC address, as explained here.

What you're proposing, deleting the new asset and changing the MAC address value for the old asset should do the trick here.
