Is there a formal list of LSAgent scan limitations versus scan server agentless scanning?

I've just recently found out from support that LSAgent is not currently capable of gathering the FIREWALLRULES information for Windows assets and I'm just wondering if there is a formal list of "Scanned Item" limitations for LSAgent? Is there a KB or formal list somewhere that compares what information LSAgent can gather versus what a scan server can get?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

There is no single public-facing document that provides a line-by-line comparison of the data retrieved by the Scan Server (agentless) versus what the LsAgent collects.

Here's a breakdown of the current differences:

  • Firewall Scanning: The new firewall scanning feature has been released for the Scan Server (agentless). An updated LsAgent to support this functionality has not yet been released.
  • Other Scanned Items: With the exception of firewall rules, everything that the Scan Server retrieves from a scanned item is also retrievable by the LsAgent.

Essentially, for now, the ability to scan for firewall rules is the key functional difference between the two scanning methods.
