Office Product Naming Convention Violation

Hello,

We have lots of office users, on many different versions of office. We just discovered that some installations of Office 2007, instead of showing in Lansweeper as "Microsoft Office 2007" or something similar, they show up as:

"2007 Microsoft Office system" (ver12.0.6425.1000)

This really messes up how we keep track of Office. Is there a way to fix this?

Will the upgrade to 4.1 remove the registry key if we put one in now?

For office: Yes

Are you saying there's not way to change it?

2nd question: the product keys for an installation of "2007 Microsoft Office system" do not show up in the PCs Product Keys section.

In the installed software section: NO
In the license keys: yes, this will be changed in 4.1 (you won't need to enter the registry key any more, all versions will be found)

Lansweeper gets it's information from the add/remove programs.

Do you mean the display name in the software list or the license keys?
