overly aggressive hover menus

Is there any way to turn off the hover menus or set them to they don't activate the exact instant your mouse touches them? When I move my mouse down from my tabs bar and touch the Scanning tab or Knowledgebase tab inadvertently, I have to mouse elsewhere and wait for them to go away because the hover menus are covering the area I'm trying to get to.

Unfortunately, there is not a configuration to turn this off.
