Some additional information for anyone having issues with this: RPC errors do usually point to firewall issues. Lansweeper pulls most Windows computer data from WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation), a management framework built into Windows operating systems. WMI inherently - this is true for all applications querying WMI - sends its data over random ports in the 1025-5000 or 49152-65535 range. For agentless scanning and deployments, you should allow *all* WMI traffic. Configuration instructions for Windows Firewall can be found
here, but third-party firewalls may need to be reconfigured as well.
On computers running Windows Vista or higher, you could set up a fixed WMI port, as explained in
this Microsoft article. To get a successful scan, you could scan locally with
our LsPush scanning agent as well, though this will not resolve the deployment errors. (Deployments are always triggered remotely.)
