Hi all,

we also use IBM AIX 7.x in our company and we want to scan this server.
Is the scanning of especially IBM AIX OS supported from lansweeper?
I know there exists an instruction to scan Linux/Unix but this is to general for
me. Also the server run productiv IT-systems and if a regualtor audit I will be safe.

Thanks

I'm not sure which exact commands are executed to retrieve hardware data on Linux. Regardless, if a command is not supported by the Linux distro then it might well cause issues.

Best way to know for sure is always to just try it out. It seems others here have had success though.

Happy New Year Esben,

For sure there is no possibility to inventory Hardware of AIX Servers because command is not present in Lansweeper Binaries.
DMIDECODE is not existing in AIX OS.

Hey,

so I tested a AIX server with the Devicetester.
All ran good until to the disks with the follwing message:
Disks:
df: Not a recognized flag: h
Usage: df [-P] | [-IMitv] [-gkm] [-s] [filesystem ...] [file ...]
Network: ksh: /sbin/ifconfig: not found.

So I think the AIX server aren't supported, or...?!?

You have to read KB:

Do you know the minimal permissions, that the user need?

Yes, LS has basic support for AIX.
Our LS scans AIX 6.1, 7.1 on Power 6 and Power 7 platforms.
LS shows next info: OS, Uptime, Model+Serial, Memory, Processor, Network adapters(enX), Software Packets.
