To improve overall performance of the search function at the top of the web console, not every field in the database is indexed for this functionality. The search function is mainly limited to data stored in tblAssets and tblAssetCustom. Hard Drive serial numbers are unfortunately not searchable here. We would indeed recommend searching for hard drive serial numbers using a report.
