Engaged Sweeper II
Dear Lansweeper Team,

I found the "Monitor scan" feature a wonderful thing in our company. However, it only scans older monitors. We have about 1.000 monitors, but Lansweeper shows only 434.

For example, AOC 2351Fh and LG 23MP55 won't show up on our scans.

Is there a compatibilty list or our lansweeper is messed up?

Regards,
Rafael Soares.

Lansweeper scans monitors from the registry during Windows computer scanning and retrieves the manufacturer and serial number to uniquely identify the monitor within Lansweeper. We've seen some issues where monitor manufacturers don't store the complete serial or store a generic serial instead. If the manufacturer stores a generic serial number, it's possible that you're seeing only 1 single monitor asset, even if hundreds exist. This happens because the serial number is part of the unique key but isn't unique.

We could look into this further though, please send in an email to support@lansweeper.com and include the following information for each monitor model:
  • Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Service\Errorlog.txt as found on your Lansweeper server.
  • A screenshot of the Edit Asset screen of the Lansweeper webpage of the monitor (if it exists)
  • The output of this tool run on a computer this monitor model is connected to.
  • The real serial number of these monitors, a picture of the back of the monitor is fine.
