Hello,

we have about 200 HP Windows XP Embedded ThinClients.
Most of the ThinClients (about 170) could not be scanned.
We have added the HP WMI support add on, no luck. DCOM Config and so on seems to be ok.

Is there a way to troubleshoot "deeper"? Are there log files?
Anybody else problems with XP embedded or TC from HP? Is there any trick?

Thank you

I had this same issue, it was tough. The solution I came up with was upgrading the thin clients OS to Embedded Standard. We're using the t5740's. Once the upgrade was done, they scan like a normal machine. We have a tiny embedded environment, mostly as a test to see how well it would work for us, so the upgrade was pretty low key. I don't know how well this will work for you given the size of your environment.

Hello,

thanks for your reply.
we have a lot of T5720 and T5730 Thin Clients. So we could not update to embedded standard.
I have tested the clients with the lansweeper test tool.
Whe i try to connect to wmi remote, i get the error : "RPC Server not available"
When i ran the tool local it seems to be ok.

I have tried a lot to connect remote. There is something missing or strange with the HP image 😞
At the moment i use Lansweeper 4.2 beta. There is a new option to use lspush.exe.
When i use lspush.exe it seems to work on my testclient.
Maybe the only way. Or HP is fixing the image.

or somebody has another trick/workaround?

Thanks
