Mirroring aware for tools

Is it possible to make the manager/report/building tools "mirroring aware"?
(maybe to use ODBC is the best way, if not, can the ini have entries for the alternate server as well?

I mean, something like:

Data Source=sqlprincipal.domain.com\Principal_Inst;Failover Partner=sqlmirroring.domain.com\Mirror_Inst;Initial Catalog=Lansweeper

Yes I know, it was a wish since I've implementented SQL mirroring for High Availability, and now I have to choose the principal server so I can work with the tools.

The tools use ado and sql driver instead of the new sql2005 driver, so it's not possible at the moment.
