Web service management is a cross-platform tool that can be used to work with Mac, Linux, Windows, and FreeBSD systems. It is a relative mature standard with very few tools available to manage the clients, although there are many clients to choose from.
Lansweeper could expand the client support list greatly by including WS-management support.
...and a great Lansweeper release version 6.0 it is, I am enjoying the beta very much 🙂
The WS-Management protocol opens up multiple platforms/devices, and could be added to your existing feature set as another section under the registry key scan. When the time comes, please let me know and I would be happy to support your efforts.
Lansweeper does not currently use this protocol but I’ll pitch it to the team and see what they think. Keep in mind that, at the moment, our time is very limited. All of our resources are going towards the upcoming release of Lansweeper 6.0. Additional features are currently on hold for now. Thank you for your feedback.
