Question

How do I scan mobile computers, such as the Zebra TC22? When Lansweeper scans the network, they are added as network devices (but nothing else). How can we detect these devices correctly?

Answer

In order to scan more information, the devices will need to support a protocol that Lansweeper can scan, or be enrolled in MDM such as Intune, AirWatch, etc.

For network devices, the most common protocol is SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). You can find our scan requirements and scanning instructions here:

We also recommend enabling Credential-free Device Recognition (CDR):

If the device is enrolled in MDM, such as Intune or AirWatch. You can follow these instructions:

If the device doesn't support SNMP and isn't enrolled in MDM, then unfortunately, only the limited information you see will be available. Without any protocol providing more information, Lansweeper won't be able to scan additional details.
