Hi,

This is a new install. When I use the connection tester the Current User: is the admin user account for the box with lansweeper installed, this fails when i enter a computer to test. If I select alternate credentials and use the user account that is running Logon Service for Lansweeper the test works fine. I don't understand which process/user actually access the workstations to pull the information and where that setting is?

Thanks

I have some machines with the above problem, but I checked the Windows Firewall and the WMI service and both are working, I use premium version. What is the next step?

On the client : http://www.lansweeper.com/kb/firewall.aspx

From the server you can test with the windows firewall disabled to make sure that this is not the case of your problem.

what is the firewall setting to allow lansweeperservice.exe to access the pc?

And you are trying the connectiontester with the same account and this works?

If yes:
Check if computername, fqdn and ipaddress all resolve correctly.

Ok. Just to confirm. I have tested the domain admin account used to configure service and it passed. I'm still getting a access denied. I have the lsclient.exe launched at startup. I have launched from dos propmt the lscleint.exe "mysever" from the workstation and I get a success. what else can i check?

So you saying that it does not matter that under the Logon tab on the lansweeperservice.exe i'm using the Log on as: This account: which has admin access to the workstations. The system still uses the default logon windows user account.

No,

I'm trying to say the opposite 😉
See the last page of the documentation.
Make sure that you use a domain administrator to configure the service.

Standard the user is used that is running the lansweeperservice.exe service.
This can be overwritten by the alternate credentials.
