Error Message:
Wmierror Cannot resolve hostname to an IP address (xxxx) 4/11/2012 2:27:05 PM
Wmierror The RPC server is unavailable 0x800706BA (xxxx) 4/11/2012 2:27:05 PM
Network config:
Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection [192.168.2.100] , [fe80::1488:a5c3:d8:7527] 08:2E:5F:01:CB:EE False [255.255.255.0] , [64] 03/04/2012
Intel(R) Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter [10.73.1.220] , [fe80::253f:f55:7247:c59e] 00:1B:21:BC:52:F4 True [10.73.1.1] , [fe80::9d4a:5a2c:5d24:3924] [10.73.1.35] [255.255.255.0] , [64] 03/04/2012
Problem:
The client computer seems to report the 192.x.x.x IP address. This is of course not usable for the lansweeper and so it cannot resolve the right computer name. With LsPush and equal it is working but the machine will run 24/7 and so I cannot apply any start-up script.
How can I force the lansweeper to use the 10.x.x.x address?
Thanks!
PS: The client machine is stand-alone and cannot be added to our domain. So it is also not possible to use the DDNS.

You can update the "hosts" file on the machine to force resolution to a certain IP. Info on the location of "hosts" files for various operating systems can be found here.
An example hosts file can be seen in the screenshot attached to this post. Computer "LAN-001" now matches 127.0.0.1.
