HTTP Error 403.18 on Server 2008

I've installed Lansweeper on a Windows Server 2008 x64 box with SQLExpress 2008. It's running OK but if I try to access the web console I get "Server Error in Application 'Default Wetb Site/Lansweeper'". The error summary lists "HTTP Error 403.18 - Forbidden". The Error Code is 0x00000000. I'm not too familiar with IIS 7 yet. Any suggestions?

I found that IIS was missing dot.net and aspnet. I added those roles and it now works. I noticed this before removing IIS as you suggested. I did not have to reinstall Lansweeper. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I’ve tried to reproduce your error but I was unable to do that!

Your error is definitely caused by an ISS7 miss configuration; I don’t know what is that, so, if you don’t have any other sites, web applications installed within your server, an IIS7 reinstall may solve the problem!

I suggest doing following:
1. From your Server Manager / Roles remove Web Server (IIS) role
2. Reboot your server if required
3. Run following command from a Command Prompt console:

start /w pkgmgr /iu:IIS-WebServerRole;WAS-WindowsActivationService;WAS-ProcessModel;WAS-NetFxEnvironment;WAS-ConfigurationAPI;IIS-ISAPIExtensions;IIS-ISAPIFilter;IIS-ASPNET;IIS-NetFxExtensibility;IIS-ASP;IIS-RequestFiltering;IIS-DefaultDocument

This will install IIS 7 in default configuration, with some other features.
4. Reinstall the Lansweeper.

Could you please post the "Install.log" file that you may find it in "%ProgramFiles%\Lansweeper\" folder?

No errors during the install. I followed the documentation and things went very well. The only other thing was when logging on to the configuration manager the default password listed in the documentation didn't work. I just used intergated authentication and that worked.
