lansweeper stopped connnecting

for some reason lansweeper can not connect to the DB

Nothing has changed on the SQL end , the account that starts the service svc-lansweeper is domain admin. I can connect to the lansweeper console

Is this the same problem you have some weeks ago?

There are 2 config files, one for the service, one for the website.
They both use a username/password combination (default : lansweeperuser/mysecretpassword*-)

Your error for the website was about SQLuser "lansweeperuser"
Your error about the service is about SQLuser "svc-lansweeper" (you are refering to a domain admin, the config file needs SQL users, not windows users)


Solution:
Make sure that both config files use the same SQLuser login/password
Check you sqlserver and make sure that the sqluser is not locked out and that the username/password combination is correct.

this user is domain admin , password does not expire , account is not locked

application was working fine 2 weeks ago

The website is now working but it appears as though no scanning is taking place as the last entry is dated 2009.05.01

There are 2 files that have the user/password (lansweeperservice.exe.config and web.config)
These files don't change unless you change them manually or if you install the website or service with the installer.

You first post was about the website not working, but it seems that also your service is not starting.
Could you please post the errorlog.txt file from your service please.

Is your website working if you use the correct username/password in the config file?

The user that you are referring to does not have this password expiration that you refer too. However the web.config is different in that it is using the
Initial Catalog=lansweeperdb;User ID=lansweeperuser;Password=mysecretpassword0*

this is not correct as these values are not what I configuired in the lansweeper.exe.config file, how did the contents of this file get modified ??
the lannsweeper service is not starting , it is domain admin and the password has not expired , the account is working

Do you have this with the service or website.
I remember that you manually moved the service/website.

Please check on your sql server if you have a password expiration of some kind.
It could be that the user/password expired.

You can find the current password in your web.config file and lansweeperservice.exe.config file
