This feature is currently in BETA and subject to changes.

Lansweeper Sites also includes a U.S. East (Ohio) cloud instance, ensuring that U.S.-based customers' data remains within U.S. borders.

Key features

  • U.S. data residency: Data for U.S.-based clients is hosted in the U.S. East (Ohio) region.
  • Consistent experience: Once generally available, it provides the same functionality as Lansweeper Sites hosted in Europe without region-specific features.
Some data, such as that processed by Credential-free Device Recognition, will transit outside U.S. borders, as this feature is hosted in Europe.

Requirements & considerations

  • No migration path: You cannot migrate your existing Lansweeper Site from Europe to the U.S. To host your site in the U.S., you must create a new site.
  • Available by request: While in beta, this feature is invite-only for a limited number of users. When it's moved to Preview, you must contact our sales team to request access to this feature.
  • Feature availability: In Beta and Preview, not all features will be available in the U.S. region — specifically, Lansweeper Discovery and the Multi-Site Management Portal for MSPs.

Which region is right for me?

The U.S. East (Ohio) region might be right for you if:

  • You’re based in the United States.
  • Your organization must adhere to specific federal, state, or industry-specific data protection standards that require your inventory data to be stored (or hosted) within the U.S.

If neither of the above points applies to you, the European (Ireland) region might be a better fit.

Create a Lansweeper Site in the U.S.

  1. Create a new Lansweeper Site. You can do this from your Lansweeper Site, or your Lansweeper On-Premises console.
  2. When you’re prompted to pick a name for your site, next to Select data hosting region, select US East (Ohio) from the dropdown.
  3. Continue with the steps to create a new site.

If you already have a Lansweeper Site in the European (Ireland) region and want to switch to the U.S. region:

  1. Unlink your installation from the European site.
  2. Create a new Lansweeper Site in the U.S., following the steps above.
  3. Delete your existing European site.
Remember, once you create a site in a specified region, it can not be migrated to the other region.
