Hey All - I'm very new to Lansweeper. It looks like a very neat product, but the total lack of documentation is frustrating. Does anyone know of a reference/resource out there that goes beyond the "documentation.pdf" that is included?

Here's my specific question for now... On the Lansweeper web interface across the top of the screen there are options to search for Computers, Users, or Software. What I'd really like to be able to do is search more abstractly. For example, under computer search right now it will only find computer names (and the name has to be an exact match, e.g. searching for "williams" won't bring up "cwilliyesams"). What I'd like to be able to do is search by IP address or possibly even login name (e.g. put in an IP address and it bring up the corresponding computer name).

Ideally I'd be able to put in anything (e.g. a serial number) and it bring up the computer.

Is this possible?

thanks!

There is a pdf with an explanation on how to create a sample report in the premium zip file.
If you need more help creating specific reports, please post them at the premium forum.

Okay, I did purchase the premium version. Is there any documentation on how to use the report builder?

The premium version has a report builder, otherwise you will need to make the views from the sqlserver management console.

I've read/seen posts about custom SQL reports and stuff like that. How would I go about creating a custom report that would display the IP address of all of my machines? I could then just search that page for the IP I am looking for.

thanks!

Searching for IP address is not possible.
The computer search field also supports the asset-tag lookup
The user search also supports the username search.
