Upgrade instructions can be found on page 164 and beyond of
our online documentation. This is mentioned in the documentation, but you don't need to upgrade your database server separately. The database is automatically upgraded when the service is. We recommend performing a backup before upgrading, just to be safe.
Event log tables are cleared during the upgrade, as the event log database structure has changed. New event log data will be retrieved during scanning. Some additional tables are cleared as well. An overview of database changes can be found in
our 5.0 beta announcement.
