I just started using LS yesterday so please forgive any stupidity on my part. I'm trying to build my assets but LS keeps pulling everything it can see in AD even though I've told it to only scan my OU. Do I need to do something to purge/rebuild the database so I'm not getting an additional 800+ assets? I've done a mass edit to remove all the assets that aren't prevalent(about 950 of them), but they just keep repopulating.

Keep in mind that each scanning method listed under Configuration\Scanning Methods works independently. A computer submitted for IP Address Range Scanning will be scanned for instance, regardless of whether or not it's submitted for Active Scanning as well. If you only want to scan a specific OU with Active Scanning, make sure the OU filter is added to Active Scanning and disable all other scanning methods. Any unwanted machines that have already been scanned will need to be manually deleted as well.

I'm still waiting to see, but I may have fixed it myself. I removed all the assets I didn't want (about 3 times), cleared the scanning queue since they may have been already in the list to be scanned, and also shut down active scanning for a few while I was clearing things out. If the unwanted assets return I'll contact support. Thanks for your help.

I suggest contacting support@lansweeper.com and provide some screenshots of your active scanning setup.
The asset "scan time" tab also shows which method was last used to scan this asset.
