Add data to existing assets

Hello,
I would like to ask if it is possible to massively add data to existing assets, I would like to add information to the created custom fields eg based on the computer name. What is the best way to do this?

In order to mass edit or add data to assets you have 2 options:

• Use the mass edit button in the left-hand pane on the assets overview page.
  
• Write a database script to populate the custom fields.
