I'd like to add a custom tab to the end user (help desk) portal. The tab/link would either be a hyperlink to take the user to another site (e.g. https://wiki.company.com or a link to a page on the Lansweeper portal where I can display an external link.
How do I achieve this?

I don't believe that this is possible, at least not without getting DEEP into the guts of Lansweeper (which wouldn't be supported, and likely wouldn't survive any upgrades).
However, you could put the link in the "News Page" section.
