Engaged Sweeper

Howdy--

We recently moved several individually-licensed on-prem installations to a single license so that they can all be linked with the same cloud site.

When adding our second installation, we ran into this error message regarding LsAgent Relay Configuration:

License key already in use for other installation. Review this knowledge base article for troubleshooting tips.

Searching this community found an earlier discussion of this issue (from 2018):

https://community.lansweeper.com/t5/general-discussions/cloud-relay-license-key-already-in-use-for-o...

Are we still limited to only one installation being able to use the Relay service?

Will the new IT Agent resolve this issue?

Thanks!

Hello there!

That is correct, we only allow you to link one Lansweeper installation with the same license key to our LsAgent relay server. If you want to link multiple Lansweeper installations to the LsAgent relay server, you will need to request a separate license key for the other Lansweeper installations that you want to link to the LsAgent relay server.

You can request a new license ley here: https://www.lansweeper.com/contact-sales/

The new IT agent will indeed not encounter this issue as it will be able to sync the scanned data directly to the Lansweeper cloud platform without having to go through a local Lansweeper installation.

Thanks for the response!

Will the new IT Agent have some capability to associate particular devices with a particular installation? The use case is that we have multiple installations, and we limit users in the cloud site to only be able to see assets for the installation they are associated with. So, we're trying to figure out how, with the new IT Agent, we will be able to ensure that agent-based assets are associated with the correct installation.
