The two entries you’re seeing represent different asset types discovered by Lansweeper.
- The Windows‑tagged asset is the device identified through Windows scanning (using WMI, SMB, etc.), where Lansweeper collected detailed hardware and software information.
- The white (generic) tag indicates a non‑Windows or generic network asset record created from another discovery scan (for example, IP scan, SNMP, or Asset Radar).
Lansweeper can detect devices through several methods — WMI, SNMP, SSH, or credential‑free discovery — and sometimes a single physical device can appear twice if it was scanned through two different methods that didn’t merge automatically
Going forward, ensure discovery scopes don’t overlap unnecessarily or adjust duplicate‑detection settings so future scans link to the existing Windows asset rather than creating a new generic one.
