Asset Radar/Scanning Service that resides on DHCP Server

I have been working on a way to utilize asset radar within a large VLAN based environment. I had a theory of installing another scan service on our DHCP Server to be able to capture DHCP packets from all subnets to provide MAC information on all the devices. Will this work like I think it would? Or is it not designed to capture packets that way? Has then been a solution for anyone else? Thanks!
