I'm not sure why I'm seeing this, and I'm wondering if anyone else has ran into this or maybe knows what could be causing it. I have a few computers that when scanned with software like PDQ Inventory, show the current and correct version. But they show up in LS under a very old and wrong version number. When you dig into the registry, the data in LS is 'correct' because the display version of the data is the bad version number. Is there a reason that Chrome would be writing bad version info into the registry? And is this a known thing that PDQ is either filtering for or reading the version from somewhere else? Any help on this mystery would be greatly appreciated.
