Hi Folks,
I have created a dynamic group to include all machines that have a specific AV installed.
if I look at the software list for a pc and a mac, I can see that "Trend Micro Security Agent" is listed for both PC and MAC under "Software".
If I create a dynamic group:
Compare: "Software Installed"
Operate: "Like"
Filter: "Trend"
then click "view assets" it only returns windows PC's that has it installed, ignoring the MAC's.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

Hi Charles,
My SQL is not great, and I don't know where to start with this, but any ideas on what I need to change to make it show only the computers with Trend installed instead of listing all software on all the machines that have Trend Installed?
Thanks!
Ian

Hi Ian,
The software filter in dynamic groups only looks for Windows software. Software for Mac and Linux are stored in different tables, so that is most likely the cause.
I've slightly modified the built-in report "Assets: Installed software by computer" to show you all assets with the "Trend Micro Security Agent" installed, regardless of OS.

Thanks Charles,
I just created a new report and copy/pasted that code in. Instead of just listing the computers, it is bringing back a line by line of every piece of software on each computer that has Trend installed though. I have a report with 11767 lines!
eek!
any idea?
Thanks!
Ian
