Hello,

We are trying to setup an outgoing connection for email and continuously encounter the "Outgoing mail error: Login error." message. We are an Office 365 subscriber and are using the same credentials for incoming as outgoing, along with "smtp.office365.com" as the server on both. Incoming is working just fine as the ticketing system is pulling new emails from the mailbox, however it is unable to send any ticket notifications.

Initial setup of the email settings give a green checkmark, but about a minute later we get the error. Any ideas?

Just an FYI for everyone else: this customer contacted us and indicated that the issue has resolved itself, without any configuration changes.

Dear team,

Helpdesk old closed ticket automatically open. How it is possible ?
Note: User can't do any reply in old ticket.
E-mail outgoing and incoming error also occurs....

Thanks for the heads up on the mailtester.exe. We gave that a try and got a success for outbound using the same credentials, however it still doesn't work in production. I'll send an email to support for further assistance.

I suggest contacting support@lansweeper.com about this problem.

In the "lansweeper\service" folder there is also a tool "Mailtester.exe" which you can use to test your mail settings.
