Hello,
I would like help scanning the switch using the SNMP protocol.
I followed the documentation from this link
However, Lansweeper Device Tester reports this error
I am using the Aruba switch and the SNMP protocol is already activated and configured
What else can I check?

We’d be happy to assist further, but please note that we’re limited in the support we can provide for configuring SNMP access directly on your device (the Aruba switch itself). SNMP setup can vary significantly between vendors, and these configurations fall outside the scope of Lansweeper-specific support. One important point to keep in mind is that the SNMP response must come from the same IP address that Lansweeper uses to contact the device. Some devices respond via a different interface, which can cause communication issues. If the Devicetester is returning the message “SNMP disabled or wrong community”, it typically indicates that either SNMP is not enabled on the device or the community string being used is incorrect. Unfortunately, this is not something we can resolve from our side. In this case, we strongly recommend checking the device manufacturer's documentation for instructions on enabling SNMP and confirming the correct community string. Additionally, we encourage you to review the following KB articles for a full overview of scanning requirements and further troubleshooting steps:
https://www.lansweeper.com/knowledgebase/network-device-scanning-requirements/ https://www.lansweeper.com/knowledgebase/troubleshooting-snmp-scanning-issues/ We also suggest consulting our general SNMP Troubleshooting Guide as a useful reference:
You will need to reach out to your Aruba switch's manufacturer to determine what is the OID for the device. The number written below is an example of what an OID looks like.
To confirm whether a device is accessible via SNMP, Lansweeper attempts to read the OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0, which typically returns the device’s unique identifier. If this request fails, the device is considered unreachable via SNMP. For further validation, we recommend performing a test from your Lansweeper server using a third-party SNMP tool (e.g., Paessler SNMP Tester), attempting to read this OID with your current SNMP credentials.

Hi there,
I am checking with Aruba support, but I did a test by changing the Access DefaultRead field to DefaultSuper and after this change I was successful in reading.
The DefaultSuper mode has write permission and the Lansweeper documentation states that only read mode is enough for it to be able to collect the information and I am wondering if it really is read-only in this case if the Aruba switch is a different one.
