It's taking a lot of assets in my company around 10 minutes to scan the eventlog. I'm not scanning anything else except the default errors. Anything I can do to lower this number?

There are a number of things that could be affecting the scan time, so I would open a case with support. They can analyze your scan server's logs and hopefully figure out the cause.
