Import Asset Question

I am looking to update assets that are already in my Lansweeper program, if i use the Import Asset template will it only populate the fields that I updated or will it over ride all the information for that asset?

To clarify I only want to update one field of my assets for example:

AssetName Mac Memory Etc Etc Custom 1
123Comp blank blank blank blank 315-237-2844

The blank fields already have data, what will happen?

Unfortunately there is no way to do this automatically or via import. You will indeed have to do this manually.

ok, the thing is the field that I want to update is going to be different for each asset. So mass updating the assets with a single value will not work. Looks like I will manually have to enter the data for each asset. Unless there is another way?

You can not use the import asset feature to update your assets. This feature you can only use to import new assets. If you want to mass edit a field then go to the assets page. Here you select the assets that you want change if you now click on mass change in the menu on the left a window will pop up. In this window you can choose which field you want to change and the value that this field needs to be updated to.
