I'm pretty sure I used to insert images from local link instead of just 'url', prior to the latest upgrade, which I performed earlier today. Did something change or do I need to change a setting now in order to insert an image into a ticket comment that is local rather than a url?

You might be right as I seem to remember it being that way a long time ago, but I've always just dragged and dropped images into the body of the ticket and that works. If it's not something that can be inserted inline, it gets added as an attachment.
Either way it gets the job done for me.
